Frequently Asked Questions
Can I attend if I am___?
Yes. Fill in the blank with whatever you’re worried about: single, divorced, white, black, addicted, hurting, poor, super-successful, a nonbeliever, atheist, etc. At Walker, we’ll welcome you as you are, so come visit us this Sunday!
What do I have to wear to church?
You can wear whatever you like. There is no dress code.
What about my kids?
We have a nursery for babies through 3 years old available during both services and Sunday School. We also have a worship service for kids during our late service @ 10:30: Pathfinders (PreK4-K) and Trailblazers (1st-5th grade).
What type of music is in the worship?
The most important factor is that the music speaks about God and the Bible, and is based on His truths. We sing both traditional and contemporary songs. Both services also use multiple instruments, too: Piano, Keyboard, Guitars, Drums, etc.
How long is your church service?
We sing for about 25 minutes, then the pastor preaches the Bible for about 30 minutes. After the message, we have a song for response. Then, we dismiss. Each service lasts about an hour or so.
What do you believe?
We believe Jesus is Lord and Savior, and He is the only way to Heaven. The Bible is true and relevant for today. We affirm the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message. (See button at bottom of page).
What type of church is Walker Baptist?
We are a Baptist Church affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, the Louisiana Baptist Convention, and the Eastern Louisiana Baptist Association.
How do I become a member of the church?
It depends on your situation. You can either join by a profession of faith, baptism, or a letter from another church. Call the church office or talk to one of the church staff about it. They would love to help.
What if I want to be baptized?
Contact the church office or talk to one of the staff. They would love to help. Or, you could speak to the pastor during the response song at the end of the church service.
